LESSON 5
Practice: Use a Skill on a Real Task
Theory is worthless without practice. In this lesson, you'll pick one real task from your actual work, choose the most relevant skill template, paste it into your AI tool, and run the full pattern. Then compare: was this better than your usual approach?

THE EXERCISE
Your 10-Minute Skill Challenge
Pick one task you need to do today. This isn't a hypothetical — use your actual work. The goal: run a real task through a skill template and see the difference firsthand.

🎯 The 5-Step Practice
- Step 1: Pick a real task: email, report, research, presentation, etc.
- Step 2: Choose the skill: Intake, Research, or Draft & Review
- Step 3: Paste the template into your AI tool (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini)
- Step 4: Answer the clarifying questions honestly
- Step 5: Let the AI run the pattern — then grade the result

💭 After You Finish, Ask:
- Quality: Was this output noticeably better than my usual AI results?
- Speed: Did I spend less total time (including revisions)?
- Control: Did I feel more in control of the process?
- Reuse: Could I use this same template again next week?
THE INSIGHT
What Changed?
Most students report a clear shift: less back-and-forth, fewer revisions, better first drafts. The template did the thinking about HOW to ask — so you could focus on WHAT you actually need. That's the power of Skills.
